Description

Cantillon Monk's Café Cuvée Kriek is a Kriek blend made specifically for the Monk's Café in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The cask was hand selected by Tom Peters of Monk's Café and Jean Van Roy.

History / Other Notes

This beer was only available on draft during special events at The Monk's Café. A few bottles were briefly observed at Cantillon in 2011 but were never publicly available.

Unsubstantiated Stories

The label indicates that these are Kellery cherries. Lambic.Info cannot find any reference defining Kellery cherries including if they are a type of Morello sour cherry. Kellery cherries are also described [1] as the cherries used in Cantillon Kriek which would imply that Kellery cherries are what are produced in Turkey. However, the label also says that this beer was produced in Belgium, which would indicate that these are Schaerbeekse cherries rather than Kellery cherries.
