It was made to commemmorate the 100th anniversary of Café De Kilo in Asse, a town in the native lambic region of Pajottenland. As per e-mail communication with the brewery, Kilo-bier similar to Voskesbier, [[Girardin Faro]] and [[Dominicus]] all comprise of the same faro beer, with perhaps minor changes to the recipe.
