Cantillon Aronia

Description
Cantillon Aronia is a blend of 2-year-old lambic and aronia biodynamically cultivated by Luka Sanzin in Northeast Italy.
History / Other Notes
The beer originated from an idea by Stefano Lorenzetti (now owner of the shop Birre e Mundo Crudele in the city of Crema, in Italy.), a friend of Jean Van Roy and fan of the same soccer club - Union Saint Gilloise - who thought the aronia fruit was interesting.
Aronia is a plant native to North America (Chokeberry) and the Siberian lands, containing strong medicinal properties belonging to the rosaceae family. It is a dense bush which produces fruits resembling elderberries, with a tannic and iron taste reminiscent of cranberry.
The beer was only bottled in 750 mL format but kegs were also filled (25 x 20 Liters as well as 17 x 30 Liters) and sold to the restaurant Pasta Madre as well as Moeder Lambic.
