Description

In September 2010, Boon filled thirty 30-liter kegs of Oude Lambiek from Cask 65. Cask 65 was a Calvados foeder that had only been used to age lambic once before. Frank Boon wrote: "This is quite exceptional, 2 years old Lambic from a 112 HL shaved Calvados cask, foeder # 65, second fill. The Lambic has 7,21% Vol alcohol and has a nice oak/calvados character with a nice hint of gentian. It has a great drinkability. We will blend it in our regular Geuze by the end of the month (September 2010)."[1]

Kegs have been served at the Mikkeller Bar in Denmark, Mikkeller and Friends in Denmark, Øl & Brød in Denmark, The Trappist in California, Fairbar in Denmark, and Brasserie 4:20 in Rome.

As Cask 65 continues to be used, its future production will be blended into Boon's traditional products.
