Oude Gueuze Cuvée René was first released in the mid-late 1990s supposedly at the suggestion of the U.S. importer for Lindemans, Merchant du Vin.<ref name=GeuzeKriek>Jef Van den Steen,[[Books#Geuze & Kriek: The Secret of Lambic Beer|Geuze & Kriek: The Secret of Lambic Beer]], 2012</ref> It is named for René Lindemans, who was the 6th generation master brewer at Lindemans before retiring and passing his share of the brewery on to his son in 2006. | |||
