Description
3 Fonteinen Oude Lambiek 4 year old is the fist, and so far only, oude lambiek bottled by Armand Debelder to be released commercially. It was released for on premises consumption in Copenhagen at the first Sour and Bitter Festival on May 10, 2012.
History / Other Notes
3 Fonteinen Oude Lambiek 4 year old is the last bottled stock of Armand's own lambic that was available before the infamous thermostat incident. The organizers of the Sour and Bitter festival purchased the last casks of lambic for the event. The original price for the bottle was 175 Danish Krones (approximately $32 USD). The lambic was bottled in may of 2011. Though it was originally intended to be sold only to festival attendees, several bottles have been traded and opened outside of the festival.
Unsubstantiated Stores
Though this four year old lambic may have been the last of Armand's lambic that he brewed personally, it is also reported that this lambic is a component of the first batch of 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend which was bottled in February 2011.
