Save Moeder Lambic
Due to COVID-19, Moeder Lambic is at real risk of disappearing. Moeder Lambic is an institution at the heart of the Brussels craft beer and lambic scene. Many of us have spent hours there with friends sharing bottles, ordering pints, sitting for tastings, and decompressing after a long day of drinking at some of the other bars and breweries around Brussels.
The continued effects of the pandemic are being felt across the hospitality sector, and with Brussels being particularly hard hit, the scene has been at a standstill since the Spring of 2020. With the lack of locals and tourists alike, income has fallen to the point where both of the locations may be forced to close their doors for good.
Known for its large list of international and local craft beers and a deep cellar of bottles of all stripes, the time has come to give people the chance to take home some very special bottles that have rarely, if ever been available for takeaway. Moeder Lambic is currently hosting a Go Fund Me in hopes of raising some money and covering some of the cost of staying closed during the pandemic. You can read about some of the financial woes on the linked page. To that end, the folks at Moeder Lambic have decided to host a raffle with an absolutely gigantic list of prizes.
Think of it this way: if you go to Moeder and order 4 beers or a bottle, you're looking at a bill of anywhere from €20-100. You haven't had the opportunity to help support the bar in person in the past year, why not throw them some €€€ so you'll have a spot to go back to when this is all over?
For every €10, you'll be entered into the grand raffle to win one of over 100 prizes. There is no limit to how many entries you can have, and you can win more than once.
For example: If you donate €100, your name will go into the drawing 10 times meaning you have a total of 10 entries.
Entering the Raffle
• First, go donate at the Save Moeder Go Fund Me
• Second, send an email with the screenshot of your donation to savemoeder@gmail.com
• Third, we'll respond to you within a 24 hours to confirm your email and place your name in the list for as many times as you donated (for example, €100 is 10 spots)
• Fourth, keep an eye out on social media and this page for more prize announcements
All screenshot entries must be received by 1 January at 18:00 UTC
The Drawing and The Winners
www.random.org will be used to draw the winners. The list of names will be fed into the site, randomized 9 times, and a final 10th randomization will determine the list of winners. The first name on the list will receive the first prize listed below, second name on the list will receive the second prize, all the way down to the 100 or so prizes available!
The drawing will take place on 3rd January on Facebook Live. If your name is drawn, you will be able to pick the prize up in person for up to five years or arrange for a proxy to pick it up for you. Please note that once it leaves the cellar at Moeder, all responsibility for safe arrival is on the winner.
