Description
Oud Beersel Bzart Oude Kriek is an oude kriek released by Oud Beersel in collaboration with Luc Dirkx in 2013 with a 2008 vintage date.[1] The beer is a re-bottling of award winning 2008 vintage of Oude Beersel Oude Kriek Vieille. Bottles were opened, re-bottled, and finished with champagne yeast and sugar to spark a refermentation in the bottle.[2] [3] Bzart Oude Kriek was relesaed in both 750ml and 1.5L bottles and is labeled as 8% ABV.
History / Other Notes
Bzart Oude Kriek underwent the "Méthode Traditionnelle" (or "Méthode Chamepnoise" in Champagne terms) in which a riddling and disgorgement process takes place. This process, performed by Guy Geunis, gives the beer a sparkling wine type finish.
