Aronia is a plant native to North America (Chokeberry) and the Siberian lands with strong medicinal properties, which belongs to the rosaceae family. In nature it is a dense bush that produces fruits in the form of black berries.
This beer originated from an idea of Stefano Lorenzetti, who found the aronia fruit interesting. Stefano is the owner of the shop Birre e Mundo Crudele, located in the city of Crema, Italy. He is a friend of Jean Van Roy, and they are both devout fans of the same soccer club, Union Saint Gilloise.

The beer was only bottled in 750 mL format. Kegs were also filled (25 x 20 Liters as well as 17 x 30 Liters) and sold to the restaurants Pasta Madre and Moeder Lambic.
