Zwanze 2018 was created from barrels that had original been purchased to fill the new warehouse for expanded productionSangiovese, Amarone, and Chianti barrels were used in the blend with lambic from the 2015/2016 season.  The Amarone barrels were willed with wort in December 2015 and the Chianti and Sangiovese barrels were filled with wort in January 2016.

This series has been released every year since 2008, and beginning in 2011, with a coordinated celebration around the world at various beer bars, breweries, and restaurants. The 2018 edition is a 2-year-old lambic coming from three different Italian wine barrels.

History / Other Notes

Zwanze 2018 was created from barrels that had original been purchased to fill the new warehouse for expanded production. Sangiovese, Amarone, and Chianti barrels were used in the blend with lambic from the 2015/2016 season. The Amarone barrels were willed with wort in December 2015 and the Chianti and Sangiovese barrels were filled with wort in January 2016.
