Description
Lindemans Kriek is a filtered, pasteurized, and sweetened lambic with cherry juice and cherry flavoring added. It is labeled as 3.5% ABV and released in 250 mL, 355 mL, 375 mL, and 750 mL bottles.
History / Other Notes
Lindemans Kriek as consumers know it today has been available since 1979. 25% percent cherry juice by volume is added before filtering and pasteurization.[1] Since 2012, all sweetened Lindemans beers use the natural sweetener Stevia. Before 2012, they were sweetened with Acesulfame K. Before bottling, the sweetened beers are put through a centrifuge for filtration.[2]
In 2016, the Lindemans line of sweetened fruit lambics received new label approval in the United States (pictured below).
