Originally founded 1871 in Wolvertem, by Jan Jozef De Keersmaecker as the De Keersmaecker brewery. In the mid 20th century it was known as Brouwerij C. & R. De Keersmaecker. In 1967, Brabrux became a conglomeration of several other lambic breweries including [[Brasserie Vanderperre | Vanderperre]], and Taymans, Ch. & R. De Keersmaecker, then later acquired by [[Brasserie Belle Vue | Belle-Vue]] in 1969. The brewery was closed in 1990 by [[Brasserie De Neve | De Neve]] under the ownership of [[Brasserie Belle Vue | Belle-Vue]]. The former brewery site now houses apartments and a fitness center.
