Armand’4 Winter is a three year blend that includes of some of the last of Armand's own lambic brewed before the thermostat incident. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend and is blended based on the season. 3 Fonteinen states that there were approximately 17,000 Armand'4 beers released, though how that is divided between seasons was not disclosed.
Winter was the fourth season released and was done so in December, 2011.
History / Other Notes
The Armand'4 Series was done in an effort to fund a new brewery and help 3 Fonteinen recover after the 2008 thermostat incident. Sales of this beer were a great success, as demand for 3 Fonteinen blended geuze was extremely high during this time. Bottles were sold for 25€ at 3 Fonteinen or 32-40€ through online beer shops.
Winter saw limited distribution in Australia. The brewery later sold additional bottles as part of a four seasons box set that included an individually numbered and signed wooden box to house the four beers.
