Originally a café blender, the café A La Bécasse was founded 1877 in Brussels by Henri Steppé. The beer company was founded by François Prosper Steppé and owned independently until acquired by Belle-Vue in 1952, then Brabrux in 1972, and Interbrew in 1992.[1] The café A La Bécasse is still independently family-owned by the 3rd generation of the Steppé family.
