History
Brasserie/Brouwerij De Neve was founded in 1792, though the brewery site goes back to 1772. In 1975, the brewery was acquired by Belle-Vue under Constant Vandenstock, which was itself later acquired by Interbrew in 1991. Despite public protests led by nonprofit group Objectieve Bierproevers (OBP), the brewery was closed three years later in 1994.
