Cantillon Zwanze 2020 -- "Brettrave" -- is the 13th release in the Zwanze series of beers. This series has been released every year since 2008, and beginning in 2011, with a coordinated celebration around the world at various beer bars, breweries, and restaurants. The 2020 edition is a lambic blended with beetroot at a ratio of 100 grams of beetroot per liter of lambic. A small number of 75cl bottles were made, with a bottle date of March 5, 2020, and an ABV of 5.5%.

History / Other Notes

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Zwanze 2020 was limited to locations within Europe.

As explained by Cantillon: "This year, we wanted to return to our roots, which inspired the special blend for Zwanze 2020: Lambic with beetroot! The beer's color is intensly red, fluorescent even, and the nose is fruity yet quite earthy. The palate is complex, a nice balance between the acidity of the Lambic and the roundness of the beetroot."

The name of this beer derives from "betterave", the French word for beetroot.
