The 2020 edition is a lambic blended with beetroot at a ratio of 100 grams of beetroot per liter of lambic. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Zwanze 2020 was limited to locations within Europe.

The name of this beer derives from "betterave", the French word for beetroot.
