Established 1931 by Jules Wambacq in Essene, who was the town mayor from 1908-1933. A new brewery building was added at this time, but Wambacq passed away before it's completion in 1933. Located at the corner of Eksterenberg and Fooststraat, the site dates back to 1640, including a brewery owned by the Wambacq family. Faro was first brewed here in 1848.
