Description
Cantillon Mozart is a raspberry lambic aged in port barrels released in 1991. It was bottled in 75cl bottles and its ABV is unknown.
History / Other Notes
According to Jean-Pierre Van Roy, the Cuvée Mozart is a bière d’étiquette/etiketbier (lit. “label beer”), meaning that an existing beer from the Cantillon range was used to produce this bottle. In this case, it was Cantillon Framboise.
The Cuvée Mozart was created for a club of people associated to the Cirque Royale/Koninklijk Circus (Royal Circus) in Brussels, who often feature classical music concerts.
This bottling was done to celebrate the Mozart Year in 1991 (Van Roy believed this to be in the 80s, but both research and substantiated cellaring notes place this bottle as a 1991 vintage, the 200th anniversary of Mozart’s death.)
