Overview
Every other year, Cantillon hosts Quintessence, an event celebrating food and beer at the brewery. Entrance to the event is staggered throughout the day. Tickets for specific times are sold in advance and generally sell out before the day of the event.
In 2014, Cantillon invited the Russian River and Allagash breweries from the United States to participate in Quintessence. In addition to beers from all three breweries being served, a Friendship Blend (Cantillon Assemblage de l'Amitié) was available, which was an equal blend of the spontaneously fermented beers from each of the three breweries.
In 2016, Masia-Agullons joined Cantillon in the celebration, with more than a dozen beers available for onsite consumption. This was also the first time that Cantillon sold Lambic d'Aunis for takeaway. Each attendee was allowed to purchase one bottle.
