3 Fonteinen Armand'4 Lente
Description
Armand’4 Lente (Spring) is a three year blend that includes some of the last of Armand's own lambic brewed before the thermostat incident. Each season’s geuze has a unique and different blend based on the season. 3 Fonteinen states that there were approximately 17,000 Armand'4 beers released, though how that is divided between seasons was not disclosed.
Lente is the first of this series and was released during the 2011 Toer de Geuze. It is labeled as 6% ABV.
History / Other Notes
The Armand'4 Series was done in an effort to fund a new brewery and help 3 Fonteinen recover after the 2008 thermostat incident. Sales of this beer were a great success, as demand for 3 Fonteinen blended geuze was extremely high during this time. Bottles were sold for 25€ at 3 Fonteinen or 32-40€ through online beer shops.
Lente was never distributed and sold out quickly. The brewery later sold additional bottles as part of a four seasons box set that included an individually numbered and signed wooden box to house the four beers.
