History / Other Notes

The lambic used for this geuze was brewed on April 16, 2014, and was bottled on the April 18, 2016. Foeder #109 is an oak cask of 9,000 liters and it is over 100 years old. It was built in Germany around the year 1910 by the company Drexler as part of a series of four foeders as a “beer foeder,” but since 1935 it was used to stock cognac. The cask ultimately arrived at Boon in 2009. Vat 109 is the first bottling of lambic brewed entirely in Boon's new brewhouse that was installed in 2011.
