==Unsubstantiated Stories==
Though Lindemans [[Oude_Gueuze_Cuvée_René|Oude Gueuze Cuvée René]] is exported to the United States, it has been claimed that the reason Oude Kriek Cuvée René is not is because the importer, Merchant du Vin, is worried about brand confusion among American beer drinkers between [[Lindemans_Kriek|Lindemans Kriek]] and Oude Kriek Cuvée René, leaving dissatisfied customers who were expecting the sweetened version (or vice versa).
