==History==
De Neve was founded in 1792, though the brewery site dates back to 1772, originally a brewery on the Van Cutsem-Plas family farm estate. In addition to producing Lambic, Gueuze, and Kriek, De Neve also produced "high fermentation" (top-fermented) ales such as Nèval Kadet, Nèval Speciale, and Rodal Bier.<ref>http://www.neqo.be/Drupal/content/brewery-de-neve - Neqo Photography Blog</ref> In 1975, the brewery was acquired by Belle-Vue under Constant Vandenstock, which was itself later acquired by Interbrew in 1991. Despite public protests led by nonprofit group Objectieve Bierproevers (OBP), the brewery was closed three years later in 1994.<ref>http://www.zythos.be/dossiers/geuze/zyth07-deneve.html - Zythos Blog</ref> After sitting vacant for over 20 years, the brewery site was sold in 2006, with plans for a loft apartment building complex.<ref>http://www.biernet.nl/bier/brouwerijen/belgie/vlaams-brabant/schepdaal/neve-de - Biernet</ref> The buildings that formerly housed the brewery were recently converted to luxury apartments.<ref>[https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=http://www.schepdaal.be/schepdaalsebrouwerijen.htm&prev=search - De Neve history & photos]</ref>
