Brasserie Vander Linden was founded in 1893, and operated by three generations of the Vander Linden family. Brothers Jos and Omer Vander Linden were the last owners of the brewery, which closed in 2001.
Duivelsbier: From 1952-2001 Vander Linden produced Duivels Bier, a spontaneously fermented sour brown ale that was very popular regionally. The brand and recipe were acquired from another brewery that had closed, Pêtre Freres, who had brewed it since 1883. In 2003, [[Brouwerij Boon|Frank Boon]] acquired the rights to the name and continues producing it today. <ref>[http://www.biernet.nl/bier/brouwerijen/belgie/vlaams-brabant/halle/vander-linden 3]</ref>
