The brewery name "Drie/Dry Pikkel" refers to a 3-legged stool (a driepikkel), which symbolizes 3 adjacent municipalities in Flemish Brabant: Strombeek-Bever, Meise, and Wemmel.
Later in the 20th century, part of the brewery was converted into a tavern, which operated until the early 1970's. After the brewery closed in 1955, a dairy was located in the former brewery buildings while the tavern was in operation. Some time laterIn 1978, the entire brewery complex was bought by a wine wholesaler, H.
