Description

Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René is a traditional oude kriek produced regularly and released in 37,5cl and 75cl bottles. It is 7% ABV per Lindemans official website, though many labels list it as 5% ABV.

History / Other Notes

Oude Kriek Cuvée René was first released in 2007. [1] It is named for René Lindemans, who was the 6th generation master brewer at Lindemans before retiring and passing his share of the brewery on to his son in 2006.

Unsubstantiated Stories

Though Lindemans Oude Gueuze Cuvée René is exported to the United States, it has been claimed that the reason Oude Kriek Cuvée René is not is because the importer, Merchant du Vin, is worried about brand confusion among American beer drinkers between Lindemans Kriek and Oude Kriek Cuvée René, leaving dissatisfied customers who were expecting the sweetened version (or vice versa).
