Description

Boon Oude Lambiek is the base oude lambiek for Boon blends. It can be served in different strengths depending on if it is lambiek for the Boon Geuze or Boon Mariage Parfait Geuze. Periodically, Boon releases kegs of "single cask" Mariage Parfait lambiek. These have included:

  • Cask 17A: Details are not currently known about Cask 17A. If you have any additional information, please contact us through the Submissions page. Cask 17A was reportedly served at Brouwers in Washington in 2009.
  • Cask 17B: Cask 17B has 9013 liters of content, was made of winter oak (quercus petraea) in the 1930-ies and was polished inside before filling. It was filled with two brews, #71 and #72 from February 17th and 18th 2004. The original gravity was 15, 30° Plato and the apparent fermentation degree reached 100% in November 2006. At the moment of kegging the alcohol % was 7.9% Vol.[1] Kegs of 17B were served at The Ginger Man in New York, Spuyten Duyvil in New York, Hop Leaf in Chicago, and The Brew Kettle in Ohio. It was also available at the 2007 Belgian Beer Festival and the 2007 Night of the Funk.
  • Cask 52: Cask 52 has 8670 liters of content. It is an oval cask, made of winter oak (quercus petraea) in 1961 and was half polished inside before filling. It was filled with two brews, #O27 and #O28 from November 5th and 6th 2003. The original gravity was 16.50° Plato and the apparent fermentation degree reached 100% in September 2006. At the moment of kegging the alcohol% was 8.6% Vol.[1]. Kegs of 52 were served at The Ginger Man in New York, Hop Devil Grill in New York, The Belgian Room in New York, Pizza Port Carlsbad in California, Dilly Deli in Ohio, Toronado in California, Max's in Maryland, and Falling Rock in Colorado.
  • Cask 59: Details are not currently known about Cask 59. If you have any additional information, please contact us through the Submissions page. Cask 59 was reportedly served at the Ebinezers Belgian Beer Dinner in 2008.
  • Cask 65: Cask 65 is a Calvados cask. The second batch of lambic that was aged in this was released separately at the Mikkeller Bar due to the unique barrel notes. Future batches are being blended and used with the base lambic.
