History

Lambic blender, founded by Jozef De Vits in Lembeek, Belgium in 1927. Jozef De Vits was a local tavern owner and gueuze-blender. The brewery and warehouse buildings were purchased from Réne Troch following the economic crisis in 1927. This brewery was originally founded as a lambic brewery (Brasserie Hygiëna) in 1860 by Louis Paul, which began bottling lambic in 1875. In 1898, Pierre Troch took over the brewery, which was later transferred to his son Réne Troch in 1919. Frank Boon purchased his first brewing equipment and learned the trade from Réne De Vits when he retired in 1978.[1]
