Cantillon Aronia

Description
Cantillon Aronia is a blend of 2-year-old lambic and aronia biodynamically cultivated by Luka Sanzin in Northeast Italy.
History / Other Notes
The beer originated from an idea by Stefano Lorenzetti (now owner of the shop Birre e Mundo Crudele in the city of Crema, in Italy.), a friend of Jean Van Roy and fan of the same soccer club - Union Saint Gilloise - who thought the aronia fruit was interesting.
Aronia is a plant native to North America (Chokeberry) and the Siberian lands, containing strong medicinal properties belonging to the rosaceae family. It is a dense bush which produces fruits resembling elderberries, with a tannic and iron taste reminiscent of cranberry.
The beer was only bottled in 750 mL format but kegs were also filled (25x 20 Liters as well as 17x 30 Liters) and sold to the restaurant Pasta Madre as well as Moeder Lambic.
