Former gate of Brasserie Unies, 2009. 44 Rue Van Hoegaerde, Koekelberg, BE.

History

Originally a merger between De Boeck & Goossens in 1938, Brasseries Unies eventually became a large conglomerate of 10 breweries in total: De Boeck, Dewolfs, Goossens, Winderickx, Toussaint, De Kroon (Couronne), De Coster-Heymans, Brasserie Louis & Emile De Coster, Van Der Borght, and Vandenkerckhoven. The acquisition of the other Brussels breweries began in 1953. Brasserie Unies was acquired and closed by Belle-Vue in 1969. It was originally located at 28-44 Rue Van Hoegaerde in Koekelberg, and the buildings were torn down for high rise apartments. 1 2 3 4 5
