The De Geuzen van Oud Beersel group was founded in 2007 as a non-profit organization to promote the lambic beers and their traditions. The group conducts informational seminars on the history of lambic beers in the area and also blend their own geuze. Becoming a group member is €7,50 a year. One of the primary functions of the group is to provide guided tours at Oud Beersel Museum. The funds collected from the tours go toward further building out the museum.[1]

Events

De Geuzen van Oud Beersel provides help to Oud Beersel for several lambic and beer events in the area including the Toer de Geuze, the Zythos beer festival, and the Castle Feast Festival. In addition to helping at these events, the group also sponsors a one-day geuze blending class whose instructors include Uli from Huisstekerij h.ertie.

De Geuzen van Oud Beersel Beers

Huisstekerij h.ertie has participated in the blending and bottling of at least one lambic for the group in early 2014. De Geuzen Van Oud Beersel contains lambic from Oud Beersel, De Troch, Lindemans, Cantillon, Girardin, Hanssens, Boon, De Cam, and Timmermans. It was bottled in various sized bottles and is 5.9% ABV.
