Originally a café blender, the café A La Bécasse was founded 1877 in Brussels by Henri Steppé. The beer company was founded by François Prosper Steppé and owned independently until acquired by Belle-Vue in 1952. Later it was a brand produced by Brabrux and Interbrew. Timmermans has supplied the café since 1993. [1] The café A La Bécasse is still independently owned by the 3rd generation of the Steppé family. [2]
