History
Founded in Overmere in 1886 as “Brasserie Sept Etoiles" by Polidor Baeten, the widow of J.E. Baeten-Van Heymbeeck. The family also owned an adjacent oil mill, in which a steam installation was added in 1850, that provided electricity to the village center. Leopold Frans Baeten (b.1865, Dworp) and Robert Baeten later owned the brewery. It closed in 1944 during WWII, but the building was spared. It remained in use for some time after, bottling beer for the Excelsior Brewery. 1 2
