History / Other Notes
Oude Geuze Cuvée Marvellous is not only a tribute to the devoted artisans who preserve the Lambic beer tradition, but also an homage to Emiel Van der Spiegel. My grandfather and a recipient of the World War I Fire Cross.
Emiel was a passionate Lambic and Geuze enthusiast, much like King Albert I during the Great War. His portrait, which has served as the emblem of The Land of Geuze since our founding, stands as a lasting reminder of our deep connection to him and to Belgian history.
As Brandon Jones beautifully describes it: This "Oude Geuze" reveals striking minerality and wet stone notes throughout, with bright citrus acidity and a long, elegant oak finish. Cheers!
Many thanks to my dear friend Brandon for his kind words and appreciation.
