It was founded in the first half of the 20th century by Joannes-Baptista (J.B) Mosselmans (1906-1968). An early photo advertises the name "J.B. Mosselmans-Algoets", which may reflect an early business partner, or a possible connection to the brewer Algoet in nearby Alsemberg. Later the name J. Mosselmans-Onnockx was used, reflecting the marriage between J.B Mosselmans and Maria Onnockx. The last known proprietor was Guillaume Mosselmans, when the brewery closed in 1976.
