Nicholas Bigelow's scientific background spans several fields, from biology, to chemistry, to physics. Professionally, he has done analytical chemistry on algal biofuels and food security, chemical reactivity analysis for NOAA, photomask design and optimization for Intel, and computational electrodynamics for the study of plasmonics. He recieved his PhD in chemistry from the Unversity of Washington in 2014.

Nick's interest in beer began in earnest soon after his 21st birthday when his uncle took him to his first brewery tour.
