Dewolfs was founded in 1784 in the Boitsfort section of Brussels, and operated as a successful lambic brewery until 1960. In 1866, Joannes Dewolfs was the landowner and brewer. Dewolfs brewery was located at [https://goo.gl/maps/jTW4K9SPBKQMrFs2A rue Middlebourg 66-68,] and produced Faro, Gueuze, Gueuze Dewolfs, Gueuze Lambic, Kriek, Kriek Dewolfs, and Lambic Dewolfs. In 1900, a "J.-Ph. (Jean PhilipePhillipe) Dewolfs" was listed in the program of the world's fair. It was operated by Edouard & Henri Dewolfs in the early 20th century. Henri had two sons, Georges and Hippolyte, who may have continued brewery operations until 1960. In 1961, the brewery was acquired by [[Brasseries_Unies|Brasseries Unies.]]
