History
Dewolfs was founded in 1784 in the Boitsfort section of Brussels, and operated as a successful lambic brewery until 1960. In 1866, Joannes Dewolfs was the landowner and brewer. Dewolfs brewery was located at rue Middlebourg 66-68, and produced Faro, Gueuze, Gueuze Dewolfs, Gueuze Lambic, Kriek, Kriek Dewolfs, and Lambic. It was operated by Edouard & Henri Dewolfs in the early 20th century. Henri had two sons, Georges and Hippolyte, who may have continued brewery operations until 1960.
